Yamaha synthetic cork grease remains soft and easily spreadable in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. The formula is safe to use for all woodwind instrument corks. Imported from Japan.
Because the formula holds up to playing conditions so well, you only need to use a tiny bit of grease every once in a while. Most of the containers are conveniently sizes and don't take up much room in your instrument's case.
There is no reason to not have some type of cork grease in your clarinet or saxophone case at all times. A tenon or neck cork can last many years if the proper care is taken. Do not put the joint together if there is no lubricant or it is too tight. Keep the joint clean and fairly dry. Do not use too much of any product on your corks. Remember that these joints do more than hold your instrument together, they are responsible for creating an air tight seal and often tuning purposes.
YAC 1007P - The grease is in a tiny tub/small round container with a flip-top lid. It is softer and easier to apply than that of the stick/tube variety. You don't get a lot of product, but you typically also don't need a lot. The small size is convenient in crowded accessory compartments. Many old clarinet cases had a tiny slot for cork grease containers of this size Consider buying one for each of your instrument cases.
YAC CGS - 5g twist stick. A traditional size of cork grease stick, similar to a stick of lip balm. However the synthetic formula is far superior to the average cheapo cork grease stick.
YAC CGRC- 10g tub. A larger round container with screw-on lid of cork grease. Perhaps preferred on a work bench or in a larger instrument case where space is not an issue.
YAC 1010P - Traditional cork grease with traditional performance. Not synthetic. Cheaper. Unsure of origin.
